Commitment to Corporate and Social Responsibility
We recognise that, as a successful law firm, our activities have
an impact on the environment both locally and in the wider community.
We are committed to reducing this impact and have implemented the following steps.
Local Community Derbyshire and Nottingham Prop Help
Derbyshire and Nottingham Prop Help, part of the national
Business in the Community
initiative, was established to meet the needs of community projects in the most deprived wards of
Derby and Nottingham city as well as charitable organisations from anywhere within the two counties.
Both receive an increasing amount of requests for legal work and we are proud to donate 100 hours per year Pro Bono. This covers all our legal services.
Other local initiatives include:
• Charging for attendance at regular business breakfast meetings and donating 100% of the
fee to Derby Royal Infirmary Children’s Unit.
• Raising money through various events throughout the year for a chosen
charity, this year being the Derby Young Careers,.
• Involvement in various charitable events including the Race for Life, Edward
Bright and The Hobie Challenge.
Ethical Trading Policy
We have always been committed to conducting business in a fair and honest
manner with openness and integrity.
We only purchase Fair Trade tea, coffee, sugar and confectionary for our staff refreshments and constantly look to source other Fair Trade products wherever possible.
The Fair Trade mark is an independent consumer label that appears on products as a guarantee that disadvantaged farmers and workers in the developing world are getting a better deal.
Fair Trade guarantees producer organisations fair and stable prices for their products that covers their costs and enables them to support their family and invest in a better future.
